Successful Test of the Ababeel Weapon System

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has made an announcement regarding the successful test of the Ababeel Weapon System by the armed forces.

In a press release, the Pakistan army’s military division highlighted that the test flight aimed to revalidate various aspects of the weapon system, including design, technical parameters, and performance evaluation of its subsystems. This missile system’s development aligns with the goal of enhancing deterrence and promoting strategic stability in the region by operationalizing Full Spectrum Deterrence within the framework of Credible Minimum Deterrence.

During the flight test of the Ababeel Weapon System, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, witnessed the proceedings. The event also saw the presence of senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, CJCSC, commended the efforts of all those involved in this successful test. Furthermore, the achievement garnered congratulations from the President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Services Chiefs.

This achievement follows Pakistan’s successful test flight of the domestically developed Fatah-1 Guided Multi-Launch Rocket System in 2021, boasting a range of 140 kilometers and precise targeting capabilities.

On a separate note, the Pakistan Air Force achieved a significant milestone on December 30 by commencing the production of advanced JF-17 Thunder Block 3 fighter jets, equipped with improved radar, thus rivaling the capabilities of India’s Raphael aircraft.
