Introduction

The Samsung Group is a South Korean multinational company. Numerous affiliated businesses belong to directly Samsung. Samsung is the highest 8th global brand in the world. While Apple Inc. is the world’s largest American multinational company working on consumer electronics, computer software and other online services. Since January 2021 it is the company having the largest revenue of about 274.5 billion. Apple is the 4th largest smartphone and PC manufacturer in the world.

History

Samsung was founded in 1938 as a trading company by Lee Byung-Chul. Over three decades it worked in the fields of textile, securities, insurance and retail. In 1960 Samsung entered the field of el, the electronics industry. Apple was founded on 1976, April 01 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. Apple’s headquarter is in USA California.

First smartphone

Apple released its first smartphone called the first generation iPhone or iPhone 1, model A1203, on June 29, 2007. Its operating system was iPhone OS 1.0. CPU consists of ARM 1176 JZ(F) 620 MHZ, RAM was 128 MB and ROM consists of 4,8,16 GB flash memory. The battery was Li-ion 1400 MAH, the rear camera 2.0mp with geotagging, the display was 3.5 inches 18-bit 480×320 pixels, density of 163 PPI.

Whereas the Samsung GT-I17500 Galaxy was the first smartphone manufactured by Samsung which used open source android operating system. It was released on June 29, 2009, two years later the same day when Apple’s first smartphone was released as the first android smartphone device of Samsung. Its operating system was Android 1.5 ‘Cupcake’. Its CPU consists of ARM11 528 MHz + DSP 256 MHH. The aforementioned RAM was 128 MB and its ROM consisted of 8 GB with a Li-ion 1500 MAH Battery. The rear camera was 5mp with flash and the display was 320×480 pixels, 3.1 inch AMOLED touch screen.

Here we can see that Apple’s first smartphone is more advanced than Samsung’s. The LCD pixel density, storage and CPU of the Apple phones were better than the Samsung ones. But Apple’s first phone was 2g while Samsung’s one was 3g.

Whereas iPhone 3g phone was released on June 09, 2008, after some changing from the previously released smartphone. It was a 2nd generation phone. It has two models 3G and 3GS. Other things are the same like iPhone 2G.

IPhone 4S vs Samsung S2

iPhone 4s released on October 14, 2011. It was a 5th generation smartphone with Operating System 5.0. Having chipset Apple A5, memory of 512MB, storage of 8,16,32,64 GB, a battery of 1430 mAh and 3.5-inch display LED Backlit LCD 960×640 resolution at 326 PPI fingerprint-resistant Oleophobic Coating on front and back glass. It consists of an 8mp rear camera with HD video 1080 pixels, an Aperture of f/2.4

Samsung S2 was released on May 2, 2011, with operating system 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ having the chipset Samsung Exynos 4, Qualcomm, Snapdragon S3 and Broadcom. Its CPU was 1.2 GHz, 1GB RAM, 16 AND 32 GB flash memory, battery 1650/1800 MAH, 4.3 inches Super AMOLED display (480×800) pixels and 217 PPI density. The rear camera is an 8mp Back-illuminated sensor with auto focus, 1080 pixel HD video f/2.7 and the front camera is 2mp.

Here Samsung beats the iPhone 4s in camera pixel density, battery and some other features.

Apple iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3

iPhone 5 released in September 2012 with the operating system IOS 6 having the Chipset Apple A6, CPU 1.3 GHz dual-core 32-bit, 1 GB RAM with 16, 32, and 64 GB storage. It was having a 4-inch multi-touch display of 1136×640 pixels at 326ppi, brightness, and fingerprint resistance. iPhone 5 rear camera was 8mp ISIGHT back-side 1080p video, f/2.4, five-element lens, face detection and image stabilization. Front camera with 1.2mp 720p video. iPhone 5s was released on 20 September 2013 with Chipset A7, fingerprint touch id and some more features. iPhone 5s was the first Apple phone to have a fingerprint sensor.

But Galaxy Samsung S3 was released on May 29, 2012, four months before the iPhone 5. It has three variants.  Its operating system was Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich having the chipset Exynos 4, Qualcomm, Snapdragon 400, CPU; 1.4 GHZ quad-core Cortex-A9 (GT-I9300), 1.3 GHz dual-core( Canada & Japan & USA variant) and 1.2 GHz quad-core in S3 Neo with 1GB, 2GB and 1.5 GB RAM respectively. All three variants had 16, 32, or 64 GB ROM. The display with 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED 720×1280 pixels at 306ppi and 16M colours. Samsung S3 rear camera was an 8mp back-side, illuminated sensor, LED flash, HD video (1080p) at 30/fps, focal 2.6, autofocus, simultaneous HD video and image recording, and smile and face detection. Front camera with 1.9mp Zero shutter lag HD video 720p at 30 fps.

The iPhone 5 camera is more outstanding than Samsung S3 with 326ppi and 1080p, display pixels 1136×640 are too high than Samsung’s. But we can say that the Samsung S3 processor is better than iPhone 5.

iPhone 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S4

iPhone 6 series consist of 4 variants iPhone 6 and 6s, iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6plus were released on September 19, 2014, while the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were released on September 9, 2015. The main difference between the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is the display iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display with 1920×1080 pixels and optical image stabilization for photos while the iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display. Same as the iPhone 6s Plus comes with a superior and more balanced camera than 6s and has a large battery and a big display than the iPhone 6s.

Samsung Galaxy S4 was released on March 14, 2013. It was the first phone Samsung ever to have a fingerprint sensor and support the emerging LTE advanced mobile network. 40 million Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones sold out in just 6 months of its release date.
